The two goals of any amp made by Jetblack Amplification is tone and reliability. These amps sound great, and are built to last.

Tone is the key of course. Of course these amps should sound great, but they should also sound different. If you're looking for an AC/DC tone you should buy a Marshall. However if you're looking for the sort of amp the Angus Young might have bought instead ...

Good tone comes from good design. New tone comes from inovative design. We look for designs which capture the essence of the sounds we're looking for, whether that be clean, overdriven or distortion, and introduce new ideas. Classic amps were often compromised by mass-production costs, or the popularity of certian components (e.g. the ubiquotuos 12AX7). For example it is well within the capability of a pair of 6550 tube's to produce 100 watts, however the extra cost and circuit complexity means it is easier to use four EL34's. The 12AX7 is a great rock tube, but the smaller gain of the 6SL7 makes it ideal in a blues amp, and cascaded for a metal amp.

Reliability is key. No one wants an amp that fails mid-gig, or costs a fortune to repair when the leed pulls tight and the input socket breaks. All Jetblack amps are robust; there are no printed circuit boards and no plastic jack sockets. If something breaks it can be fixed by replacing the part
